The historic quarter of Cáceres

Cáceres at first was Roman in 34 a. C., then was Arab and Jewish. In those times there are still some monuments, such as: old wall towers, walls, the second largest tank in the world, many churches that provide shelter to imagine Easter, declared of National Tourist Interest located around the former synagogue, now Hermitage of San Antonio.

Path to Pylons (Reserva Natural "Throat of Hell" in the Valley Jerte - Cáceres) Monfragüe


All people who want to enjoy nature in an environment of incomparable beauty, walking through forests of chestnut and oak in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos Tormantos and, can do along the route of the pylons, the activity of low difficulty / moderate (available for all ages) and a round trip of 7 kms. (Approx. 1 hour each).
We get into the N-110 linking Plasencia with Barco de Avila. The crossing to access the nature reserve is between the towns of Valley and Jerte Cabezuela (about 2 kms. The latter), being marked.
After taking the turn and just 1 km., Find the parking lot where there is the Interpretation Centre Reserve (where we provide plans and all information on the routes to be) and a few meters beyond the valley camping Jerte.
In the car park the route starts (well signposted) that ascending pathways with sweeping views of the fauna (living amphibians, reptiles, eagles, vultures, owls, mountain goats, trout, etc..)
